Roseville in Bloom
Hmong Story Cloth

Hmong story cloth is traditional embroidery depicting Hmong history, folktales and symbolic textiles. During the Vietnam War the CIA recruited Hmong farmers to fight in Laos cutting off the Ho Chi Minh trail, known as the “Secret War.” After the war my family escaped from the jungles of Laos and immigrated to Minnesota. This piece is inspired by the Hmong immigration and cultural journey.
